PTA

The school has an active association of teachers, parents and friends who work together to promote the school and help provide additional educational resources to benefit our children. All parents and staff are automatically members of the association and we hope that all parents will wish to involve themselves in some way in the work of the association. The school is always open to ideas, suggestions and practical offers of help.

The aims of the association may be summarised as follows:

To provide additional educational resources for the school through a variety of fund-raising activities.

To support activities of an educational and social nature provided by the school for the children.

To provide educational information to parents specific to Moorside School and also of a more general nature.

To bring children, parents, guardians and school staff together in a partnership to help provide the best possible education for our children.

Further details can be obtained from the head teacher or the secretary to the association who is:

Mrs L Dewar, 46, Canterbury Avenue, Lancaster. Tel No. 65540

Many parents and friends help in school in a variety of ways. This help may range from listening to children read to helping to run a club. The help we receive is greatly appreciated. We wish to continue to expand the involvement of parents and friends in the life of the school. If you have a particular skill or interest and can spare some time each week please contact either Mr Guest or Mrs Hayhurst, the school's voluntary help co-ordinator.
