Healthy School

Moorside Primary School is committed to the National and Local Healthy School Program; a long term scheme focussing on the promotion of both physical and emotional health for staff and pupils.

In May 2006 we were accredited with Healthy School Status. Amongst the many initiatives the school has proposed and carried out are:

  • Free access to water in school
  • Sport-Water Bottles
  • Healthy tuck shops twice a week
  • A free piece of fruit daily for every Key Stage One pupil
  • Free fruit daily for all pupils who attend Breakfast Club
  • 'Free Fruit Fridays' for Key Stage Two

For more information visit the Healthy-Schools and the Food-In-Schools websites.
