Breakfast Club first started at Moorside in May 2000. The number of children attending was fairly small in the beginning but it has steadily grown and we now have approximately 75 children on our books- but not all attending the same days.

We usually have between 35-45 children most mornings with an age range from Reception year to Year 6.

Breakfast Club is held in the dining hall for 1 hour each morning from 7:50 - 8:50 at a cost of £1.50 per session, per child. Breakfast is extra and optional, some children have their breakfast before coming into school.

The hour is flexible and children need not attend for the full session if not required.

At Breakfast Club we offer the following activities:-

• Painting
• Junk Modelling
• Writing/Drawing/Homework Table
• Small World Play
• Art/Craft
• Drama/Role Play
• Book Table & Puppets
• Board Games
• Jigsaws
• Construction Toys
• Awe and Wonder

It is necessary because of our extensive activities for all our club members to help at 'tidy-up-time' and each member is responsible for a chosen area. We have found this system to be most successful.

We are very proud of our children for their co-operation at Breakfast Club and the consideration they show to 'new' and 'younger' members.

The club holds a wonderful, relaxed and calm atmosphere and we believe this encourages a very positive start to the school day.
